If it keeps up, those glorious days off for students won't come without a price.
On Wednesday, Lincoln Public Schools called its quaternary snowfall day of the schoolhouse year, which ways in that location's i left earlier the commune has to begin making up the missed fourth dimension.
The land requires students attend school roughly 180 days -- it's measured in hours in state constabulary -- and LPS builds in five extra days to account for Mother Nature'southward unpredictability.
LPS students oasis't had to brand upwardly instructional time since 2010, when they had six snowfall days and added 36 minutes to school days for two weeks in February to brand up ane 24-hour interval.
Since and so, LPS has called three snow days in 2012-thirteen and 2014-15 and fewer days in the other intervening years. This year, LPS called off school on Nov. 26, Jan. 22, Jan. xxx and Midweek, and Mother Nature may not be finished with us yet.
